ozEcommerce Cart of the Week

Practical eCommerce featured ozEcommerce Pro as their cart of the week during this last week. 
Their article claims there are over 500 online shopping carts in existence. However, in reality, there are very few open source eCommerce solutions –  especially ones that suit small business.  There is of course osCommerce, the solution from which ozEcommerce was built, and Magento, which was also inspired by osCommerce.  In terms of these options, we”d say ozEcommerce fits somewhere in between.  To quote a Kellogg’s cereal commerical, it’s “not too heavy and not too light”, we think it’s “Just Right”.
One particular advantage is that while osCommerce is basically owned by one person but developed by a community based team and Magento is owned by a company but developed by a community based team, ozEcommece is owned by a company, ozEworks,  and developed solely by us.  It’s treated as a product not a project and that’s is a big difference.
