If you received an email stating the following

Effective December 31, 2018 UPS® will disable all unsupported Developer Kit API URLs.

You are receiving this notification because our records indicate you are using an unsupported API URL: https://www.ups.com/ups.app/xml/ API name for UPS Developer Kit API transactions. Continued use of the URLs will subject your customers to unexpected outages and loss of packages with UPS.

To ensure you are using the correct URL for processing, we’ve made the latest version available in the Developer guide: https://onlinetools.ups.com/ API name. It should be used for all UPS Developer Kit API transactions.

UPS Announces U.S. Rate Changes

Effective December 26, 2016 the UPS U.S. Ground service Daily rate will increase by an average net 4.9 percent. Daily rates for UPS U.S. Air and International services will increase an average net 4.9 percent. UPS Air Freight rates within and between the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, will increase an average net 4.9 percent, also effective December 26, 2016. Further, UPS Freight announced an average net 4.9 percent general rate increase effective September 19, 2016.

Is UPS going to offer flat rate boxes?

USPS, FedEx and UPS all use dimensional shipping so it is hard for eCommerce site owners to control shipping costs for every order.

USPS offer flat rate boxes which are a big help in knowing your costs up front.

But now, rumor has it that UPS is testing a flat-rate service.  Packages weighing up to 70lbs and measuring under 900 cubic inches can be shipped for $11.35 for 3-day delivery with no surcharges.  There is also a Ground service rate under $10.  Will they provide boxes as well?  Maybe.
